Job Summary: The Legal Officer will be responsible for
monitoring the general security situation and follow up on the structures
entrusted with security watch in the settlement; monitoring community
structures in handling cases within their jurisdiction; accompanying persons of
concern / witnesses to courts of judicature as needed; periodically visit
detention centers and monitor the welfare of the detained; providing legal
counseling to persons of concern; cooperating with the police and other
implementing partners in monitoring crime and providing periodical reports
regarding the same.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the American Refugee Committee (ARC) Legal
Officer job must hold a university degree in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) - Hold a Post graduate Diploma in Law
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with IDPs, Asylum
seekers, refugees and stateless persons on legal matters. - Ability to conduct comprehensive interviews and provide accurate
legal related assessments. - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to ride with a valid license.
