About US:
The Government of
Uganda (GoU) has received credit from the international Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD) towards financing a ten-year National Oil Palm Project
(NOPP). The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture Animal
Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) as the Lead Agency. Implementation will also
involve other partners including other Ministries, agencies, District Local
Governments and private sector players with strong public and private sector
partnership in project implementation.

Job Summary: The Institutions, Enterprise Development and
Finance Officer will be responsible for three broad sets of activities: (a)
supporting the financial operations of KOPGT and the related institutional
development processes aimed at creating either a national out-growers trust or
new hub-based out-growers trusts to manage the NOPP financing operations in the
new hubs;(b) Facilitating households to identify and develop small and micro
rural enterprises, through both the establishment of incubation centers in each
of the hubs and the promotion of savings and loans through local financial
organizations; and (c) working closely with commercial and development finance
institutions in Uganda, with a view to incentivizing them to offer credit and
other financial services for oil palm growers and OP growing communities.
