Hygiene (WASH) program in South Western Uganda & we partner with other
like-minded organsations to provide safe drinking water, Community Mobilisation
& Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to communities
across Uganda.

About SHARE Program:
The Sanitation,
Hygiene Assistance for Refugees (SHARE) Program will deliver high-quality
holistic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in Nakivale, Oruchinga,
Rwamwanja and Kyaka II settlements in South Western Uganda. SHARE will improve
health outcomes of the refugees and host communities through: community) in
sustainable management of water and sanitation services in Nakivale, Oruchinga
through: a) increased adaption of appropriate hygienic practices; b) increased
access to and use of improved sanitation and water products/services c)
strengthened capacity of the local structures (church and Rwamwanja and Kyaka
II settlements), South Western Uganda. These interventions will be implemented
at the household level and at local institutions including schools, health
facilities, churches, mosques and marketplaces.

Job Summary: The Hygiene and Sanitation Specialist will be
responsible for effective delivery of sanitation and hygiene services of the
program; provide technical leadership to design and implement behavior change,
community led total sanitation, children’s hygiene and sanitation training to
build the capacity of schools and communities to adapt proper hygiene practices;
Ensure strict adherence to standards, policies and approaches in sanitation and
hygiene; Document and share good practices for sanitation and hygiene within
the organization, stakeholders and its partners.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Living Water International (LWI) Hygiene and Sanitation
Specialist must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred) in a
field related to above sectors/professions. - Ten years of relevant working experience in a field related to above
sectors/professions - Strong technical working knowledge and skills in a specific
sector/profession is mandatory. - Extensive experience working with government officials, donors and
private sector stakeholders. - Experience of managing and implementation of programs in an
emergency context is preferred. - Prior experience with US government funded programs is preferred.
