Job Summary:  The General Manager – Mobile Financial
Services will mainly develop and execute strategy, policies and procedures for
the roll-out of Mobile Financial Services (M FS) initiatives and ensure
sustainable market dominance as set out in MTN Uganda business plans. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) strategy
    for the Ugandan market.
  • Develop and implement effective route to market plans to ensure
    market dominance of MTN Uganda MFS services.
  • To achieve business plan results as per set targets and ensure
    market penetration and sales forecasts are met.
  • Implement channel innovation and ensure MTN Mobile Financial
    Services is sustainable, innovates and build on its product portfolio in
    the market.
  • Ensure conformance to regulatory obligations of MTNMFS products
    while maintaining a balanced relationship with key stakeholders.
  • To review procedures, policies, work flows and quality control
    programs within the Mobile Financial Services division.
  • Develop the innovative Mobile Financial Services product/services
    and ensure product penetration in the identified market segments.
  • Effective management of the sales forces to ensure maximum business
    impact in terms of new customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Support initiatives aimed at the bottom of the pyramid and
    initiatives around Mobile Financial Services access.
  • Prepare monthly and other periodic reports to the CEO on the
    performance of the Mobile Financial Services products/services.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda General Manager – Mobile
    Financial Services job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Marketing or Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
  • Proficient with MS Office application especially Excel and Power
    Point.
  • Six to eight years of experience in a Financial Service Environment
    with significant experience in the Management of 3rd party distribution
    channels.
  • Prior Telecoms or Banking Industry experience is an added advantage.
  • Experience in people management is required.
  • Experience in Audit/ Compliance and Risk management is mandatory.
  • Experience in people management is required.
