(JMS) is a Church founded private not-for-profit organization whose mission is
to supply medicines, medical equipment and related healthcare services, and
training of assured quality to the people of Uganda at affordable prices. It
was established in 1979 as a joint venture between the Uganda Catholic Medical
Bureau (UCMB) and the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB).

- Inspect all release for sale incoming products, review certificates
of analysis audit documentation to ensure that they conform to the set
quality specifications and release complying products for sale. - To monitor the storage and transportation of pharmaceutical products
and medical supplies in line with good distribution practices. - To sample and test medicines and medical supplies in line with the
relevant standard operating procedures and protocols. - To supervise the inspection of customer consignments in line with
established JMS, customer and regulatory requirements. - To coordinate the prequalification process for products, services
and suppliers in line with laid down procedures - To lead the Validation, qualification and calibration of JMS
equipment, vehicles and measuring devices - To manage the operations in the JMS mini lab in line with Good
Laboratory Practices - To ensure that the process of Licensing of premises, registration,
importation and exportation of pharmaceutical products and medical
supplies are performed in line with the guidelines established by National
Drug Authority. - To investigate all quality related feedback from JMS customers and
handle recalls in line with the established standard operating procedures. - To perform periodic self-inspections in line with Good Distribution
Practice - To lead the implementation of the JMS Quality Management System in
line with ISO 9001:2015 Guidelines

- The ideal candidate for the Joint Medical Store (JMS) Quality
Assurance Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy - Additional training in the area of quality management of medical
supplies is an added advantage - Must be registered with The Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda
- A minimum of two years working experience in a busy pharmaceutical
manufacturing concern / pharmaceutical warehousing. - Knowledge and exposure to the current challenges in proper
management of medical supplies. - Proficiency in MS Office and ERP applications
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Pharmaceutical and pharmacological knowledge
- MS Office proficiency
