Job Title:    I.T Officer

Micro-Haem
Scientifics and Medical Supplies Limited mandate is supply of high quality
pharmaceutical and medical products (consumables and equipment) of latest
technology in Uganda and E. Africa; Manufacture Drugs and Medical
Devices/Instruments; Operate the Microhaem Medical Equipment Training School
(offer training, research, capacity building programmes, establish incubation
centre; collaborate with and outsource medical  professionals from related
training institutions globally); run curriculum  that meets international
standards); and engage in maintenance, servicing and repairing of medical
equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Installing
and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and
scanners
·        
Monitoring
and maintaining computer systems and networks
·        
Responding
in a timely manner to service issues and requests
·        
Providing
technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
·        
Setting
up accounts for new users
·        
Updating
of the company website and social media pages.
·        
Repairing
and replacing equipment as necessary.
·        
Testing
new technology.
·        
Training
more junior staff members.
·        
Install
and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
·        
Develop
and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
·        
Ensure
security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
·        
Provide
orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer
equipment.
·        
Organize
and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing
their work.
·        
Perform
troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts,
debugging etc.)
·        
Maintain
records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
·        
Identify
computer or network equipment shortages and place orders



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
applicant must hold a Degree in Computer Science, I,T, engineering or relevant
field
·        
Certification
as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT
Professional)
·        
The
applicant must have proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
·        
Excellent
diagnostic and problem solving skills
·        
Excellent
communication ability
·        
Outstanding
organizational and time-management skills
·        
In-depth
understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
·        
Good
knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
·        
Content
management Systems mostly Drupal and WordPress.
·        
Computer
graphics software including adobe packages.
·        
Knowledge
of windows server. (should be able to manage users on a server).
