Academy started in 2014 as a pioneering initiative of Welthungerhilfe, one of
the largest Development NGOs in Germany. Through genuine engagement and
excellent capacity development of local actors, we strive to become a critical
part of a new international eco-system that inspires civil society actors to
fulfill their vision and mission. The Civil Society Academy is currently
supporting Welthungerhilfe in scaling up two of its most outstanding programmes
in South Asia and selected locations in East Africa. The initiatives are:
Fight
Hunger First Initiative – a multi sectoral rights-based approach to break the
intergenerational cycle of malnutrition, and
Green
College Initiative – to promote skills development and entrepreneurship in
rural areas by developing sustainable institutional models and a supportive
ecosystem.
roles of the Coordinator for Training Design include:
Training Design: Design top-quality training content
Analyse
existing practices of partners in the field
Conduct
training need assessment of the participants
Facilitate
teams of partners, country offices in order to co design the training processes
Ensure
high-quality training materials according to CSA policies incl. Facilitation
manuals, session plans and relevant flip chart designs
Test,
evaluate and improve training designs
Coordination: Efficient and effective preparation and implementation of
trainings
Ensures
high-quality facilitators and trainers are engaged
Facilitates
systematic exchange of knowledge and information through regular interaction
and strong collaborations
Ensures
trainings are well prepared, incl. systematic selection of participants ,
clarity on the training requirements, and excellent training materials
Coordinates
with support roles, other team members and country offices of Welthungerhilfe
Co-facilitates
training events and ensures all needs are met during the trainings
Documents
training results and ensures de-briefings and reflections
The applicant
must hold a relevant master’s degree or PHD.
At least
five years of relevant experience in consultancies, training institutions, or
development organizations.
Excellent
English skills
Good public
relations skills, good understanding of civil society roles
Experiences
in capacity building and facilitation, and specifically in designing
high-quality trainings according to adult learning principles
Practical
experience in initiatives on food and nutrition, governance, or vocational
training is an asset.
