About US:
The Allied Health
Professionals’ Council was established by an Act of Parliament in 1996, cap
268. The Council has a mandate to regulate, supervise and control the training,
practice and for other connected matters of Allied Health professional in
Uganda.
Job Summary:   The Accountant will oversee the budgeting,
revenue Accountability of council funds
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare and maintain staff payrolls inclusive of all statutory
    deductions
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and other
    stakeholders
  • Manage, control and account for the financial resources
  • Post transactions into the financial system
  • Supervise the collection and timely accountability of funds
  • Verify approved financial requests
  • Maintain internal controls and recommend necessary improvements
  • Ensure alignment of activities with budgets and work plans
  • Coordinate and support annual budget and work plan development
    processes.
  • Ensure timely payment of service providers
  • Facilitate internal and external audits
  • Perform other duties incidental to the above assigned from time to
    time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Two years of relevant working experience with a reputable organization.
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,
    Finance, and Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting option) or
    equivalent professional qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • Must be a member of ICPAU
  • Must have wide knowledge of Microsoft excel, Word, PowerPoint and
    use accounting systems and techniques
  • Must have demonstrated understanding of the accounting standards and regulations with ability to work
    under minimum supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer and writing skills
