Soroti Fruits
Limited (SOFTE) is a fruit processing plant and a subsidiary of Uganda
Development Corporation (UDC). The company will also produce ready to drink
fruit juice as well as concentrates from Ugandan produced fruits notably
Oranges, Mangoes and Pineapples.

Job Summary:
The Accountant will provide routine financial management & accounting
support relating to budget execution, preparing financial statements, tracking
accountability and supervision of day to day operations.

accountability and supervision of day to day operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compare analyze financial information and prepare financial
statements including monthly and annual accounts. - Prepare budgets taking care of funds to pay bills and salaries to
employees. - Produce and file reports with accuracy and detail and submit timely
financial reports - Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues
and expenses ie, handing cash, potty cash and cheques. - Monitor and support taxation documents, ie tax returns.
- Prepare payment invoices
- Handle Bank reconciliations
- Perform Inter account transfers.
- Data entry in the accounting system.
- Keep records and manage debtors and creditors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and
Accounting OR Bachelor’s degree with a bias in accounting option from a
recognized university higher institution of learning - Full or part professional qualifications in accountancy obtained
from a recognized awarding institution by the Institute of Certified
Accountants of Uganda - Three years of working experience in accounting especially in a
factory setting - Proficiency in the use of Accounting software preferably QuickBooks.
- Computer literate: proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, and
PowerPoint - Self-Driven Strong communication and problem solving skills.
- A team player with ability to work under pressure
