and regional content to serve African and global audiences.
Job Summary:  The Reporter, Swahili (Kampala) should have
excellent English and Swahili language skills with experience of field
reporting, delivering creative output for radio, TV digital and social media
platforms.  You will have an excellent
knowledge of local, regional and international news and current affairs is
essential, including knowledge of Sports in Africa.  You will originate research, prepare, produce
and present programs, items, packages, interviews, discussions, background,
analysis and features, for radio, TV, online, mobile and social media.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The BBC Reporter, Swahili job placement should be a fluent Swahili
    speaker (both written and spoken), with a strong journalistic and
    reporting background.  A good
    command of English is essential.  
  • Extensive knowledge of Ugandan, East African and international
    affairs, as well as Sports in Africa. 
  • An excellent broadcasting voice and strong presentation skills with
    the ability to perform at the microphone with flair is important.
