Initiative Just Relief Aid (HIJRA) is an international African humanitarian and
development organization that positively contributes towards improving the
living standards and conditions of those adversely affected by disasters and
conflict in the Horn, East & Central Africa by implementing WASH, Health,
Education, Livelihoods, Community service & development and Protection
programs in the region for a period of more than 20 years.
from the UNHCR in Uganda is implementing a multi-sectoral Program for refugees
in Oruchinga settlement (Isingiro district), Nakivale settlement (Isingiro
district), Nyakabande Transit Center (Kisoro district) and Kyangwali Settlement
(Hoima District).
- Stay abreast of all developments relating to the project and prepare
appropriate and timely reports and briefing notes as required. - Ensure proper case management and documentation
- Regularly monitor use of protection tools
- Consolidate data on project implementation and work with the
information management team to provide analysis - Prepare mission briefs together with sector leads
- Coordinate with partners to collect project relevant data and share
information for the protection of affected populations - Conduct regular case follow up in the community and with partners
- Prepare timely weekly, monthly, quarterly other reports as required
- Actively contribute to proposal development for the organization
- From time to time undertake any other duty as may be assigned by the
supervisor
- The ideal candidate for the HIJRA Protection Officer – Case
Management/Reporting job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Development
Studies, Law, Human rights or a comparable discipline - Three years of work experience in the same field of development and
humanitarian work and NGOs - Ability to produce high-quality documentation
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to
interact with a number of different partners and contacts, including
governmental authorities, UNHCR, victims and their families etc. - Strong computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, PowerPoint and E-mail.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
