support the implementation of project activities on prevention and response to
violence against children in Palorinya resettlement Camp in close collaboration
with the district leaders, Civil Society Organizations, International Partners
,law enforcement authorities and other service providers.
- Prepares work plans and budgets in collaboration and coordination
with partners. - Follows up the approved plans to ensure the set objectives are met.
- Engages proactively with stakeholders and community volunteers
during project planning. - Readily represents ChildFund in relevant fora and seminars on
matters of CP project interventions. - Attends District Coordination meetings and other
meetings/workshops/conferences called by partner organizations and
government as and when delegated by the Project Manager. - Participates in project quality reviews/reflections.
- Visits the communities and project sites regularly for the purpose
of monitoring & evaluating actual implementing of activities. - Organizes stakeholder and quarterly reviews to realign processes and
objectives. - Document on regular basis project significant stories of change and
share with the donor. - Tracks project indicators using agreed upon tools and formats.
- Prepares progress reports.
- Responds to all inquiries from donors concerning the project.
- Collaborate with other actors like district and sub-county
leadership in regard to project implementation. - Work with relevant actors to ensure that survivors of child abuse
get immediate and timely psychosocial, medical and legal services. - Actively participates in the budgeting and budgetary control
activities and ensures value for money for all project funds. - Coordinates with the Finance Officer to ensure that monthly
financial reports are accurate and timely.
- The ideal candidate for the ChildFund Project Officer – Child
Protection job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Social Work, Social Sciences, or Development Studies, or a related field
and a Post-graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management. - Possession of computer skills is necessary.
- Knowledge of the local context and language is an added advantage
- A minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in a
similar position in a development organization. - A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a rural setting,
refugee setting or conflict situation is preferred. - Knowledge of Community Based Child Protection Systems strengthening
is necessary. - Demonstrable aptitude for teamwork.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
- Ability to take fast decisions.
- Motor cycle license or ability and interest to learn and ride motor cycle.
- Knowledge of local language will be an added advantage.
