Job Summary: The IT Support Officer will provide front
line IT support for UMEME computer users
line IT support for UMEME computer users
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide second line support services to UMEME IT users.
- Following up on open tickets and providing feedback to users
- Managing IT helpdesk reports and escalations
- Offer 1st line support for OICS Touchpay and ULTIMA
- Resolve user issues assigned by help desk, in a fast efficient
manner. - Configure new computers, and install software and hardware
components as required. - Report work completed to UMEME help desk, and escalates unsolved
issues. - Participate in IT projects, as required.
- Update software, patches it and version management.
- Deliver and maintain IT equipment, in Kampala and up country.
- Install Anti-virus and upgrades.
- Evaluate Software & Hardware
- General support duties and other tasks as required.
- On standby support for Call Centre and Work Management Centre ensure
that systems and applications are up and running. - Support Lugogo Offices in general, these include Stores, Planning,
Survey, AMR, Engineering, Safety, Security, CCD among others.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Umeme IT Support Officer job vacancy
must hold a Degree in IT or its equivalent - At least two years’ experience in a similar support role.
- Honesty and Integrity
- Attention to detail
- Accuracy
- Customer Care Experience/Dealing with customers over the phone
- Experience of a help desk administration
- Good Communication skills both written and oral
