Job Summary: The Head of Category Management is focused on
the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of the MPL products. Close working relationships will
need to be forged with the MPL teams to ensure the right range of products for
their varied retail customers and consumers is readily available so as to grow
the market share and bring new products to the market.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion competitive behaviour and mindset throughout the business
and translate it into marketing activities to grow brand share. - Coach train Category Managers to deliver great growth plans and lead
the development and delivery of plans with key markets and customers built
around compelling insights, robust plans and flawless execution. - Establish a new way of working for the channel in terms of planning,
execution and connections across markets. - Create and manage an execution powerhouse with the support of local
countries that drives for difference in every action taken. - Build a community that extends beyond Customer Development who
collectively aim to delight shoppers in the channel through passion,
brilliance, insight and approach. - Develop, lead and execute category plans, strategies and frameworks,
including market approaches, procurement analysis, supplier development,
contract management, performance reporting and evaluation, to optimise
value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations. - Assess supply markets and supply arrangements by analysing market
trends, dynamics and opportunities, to inform market strategies and
procurement decisions and ensure procurement arrangements meet business
needs. - Establish and maintain value-based stakeholder and strategic
supplier relationships to ensure that category strategies meet business
needs, enhance stakeholder engagement to challenge and motivate providers
to optimise service outcomes. - Establish performance standards and evaluation processes to assess
and report on procurement activity in terms of progress, results, customer
satisfaction, value and cost. - Product tracking on quality of top sellers versus brand performance
standards and quality benchmarks and identify any issues and/or
opportunities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration, International Business Administration or a
business-related field. - Possession of professional qualification in Marketing.
- Master’s in business Administration or related field.
- 5- 8 years of experience in Category Management or similar role with
a proven analytic track record. - Comfortable working with complex data across multiple sources to
develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations. - Ability to organize and present data in a business case format.
