Administrative Officer
Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is a strategic institution of the East African
Community (EAC) responsible for coordinating the development of human resources
and research in the region. IUCEA is
charged with a number of responsibilities among them being to coordinate
academic and research activities jointly undertaken by Partner states and
member university institutions. The main
objectives of IUCEA are to (i) facilitate networking among universities in East
Africa, and with universities outside the region; (ii) provide a forum for
discussion on a wide range of academic and other matters relating to higher
education in East Africa; and (iii) facilitate maintenance of internationally
comparable education standards in East Africa so as to promote the region’s
global competitiveness in higher education.

- Receive and provide information to visitors and direct them
appropriately - Handle and operate switchboard
- Maintain incoming and outgoing telephone records
- Answer and direct telephone calls
- Maintain visitors register
- Advise and direct delegates and participants on hotel accommodations
and meeting venues - Actively participate in document preparations for IUCEA meetings and
other activities - Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from
time to time
- Visitors feedback received
- Incoming and outgoing telephone attended to in a timely manner
- Front Office kept tidy at all times
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in Office Management, Secretarial
Studies, Public Relations or Office Administration - A Bachelor’s degree in related field is an added advantage
- Training in ICT is an added advantage
- At least four years of experience in managing a front office in a
busy organization - Must be Customer focused, have excellent communication, listening
skills, and ICT skills - Age Limit: Below
55 years.
