prevention strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is
based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute – Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai
District.

Job Summary: The Medical Supply Chain Officer supports in
monitoring and providing on-site support of medical logistics management in the
supported districts/health facilities according to MoH standards. He/she will
ensure close monitoring of ART commodities and stock levels. He/she will
further ensure adequate supply of quality drugs, responding to dynamic changes
in demand, managing increased volumes of commodities and minimizing pilferage
and misuse.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support health workers in health facilities in their dispensing,
stock management, and storage management practices. - Provide technical assistance, mentorships and CMEs in medicines and
health supplies management. - Support districts to develop district pharmacy systems and annual
procurement plans - Support facilities in ordering and reporting bi monthly and participate
in district order review meetings - Support health workers and medicine management supervisors to
implement RX solution, SPARS, PFM and submit all the required reports. - Strengthen pharmacovigilance and adherence issues in the health
facilities. - Participate in budgeting for supply chain activities, requisitioning
and appropriately account for the disbursed funds. - Develop and follow up on activity plans developed with the focal
logistics personnel in the district health facilities. - Participate in CMEs and disseminate information updates regarding
logistics management. - Perform any other assigned duties in line with your roles
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Medical Supply Chain Officer must hold a diploma in Pharmacy
- Experience in medical supply chain and logistics of medicines and
health supplies is an added advantage - Active Registration with the Allied Medical Practitioners Council
- At least two years of working in a clinical setting/ facility,
preferably in an HIV/AIDS setting. - Computer Knowledge and skills
- Experience in using WAOS & TWOS
- Good presentation and report writing skills
- Communication skills and ability to speak the local languages.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work with the health care workers in the district as a
team and provide timely feedback.
