Institute Kigumba (UPIK) was established by the Statutory instrument No. 31 of
2011: The Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Acts, 2006
(Establishment of Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba) in July, 2011. The
mandate of UPIK is to provide a world-class education in geosciences and
petroleum engineering in order to support and advance the petroleum and energy
sectors in Uganda, East Africa and beyond.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Receive, record and store supplies
  • Receive requisitions, orders and issue stores
  • Check and verify stores invoices
  • Keep records of all stores supplied, received and issued out.
  • Maintain efficient storage and fast retrieval systems
  • Participate in recording and disposing off damaged, obsolete or
    expired stores.
  • Supervise loading and offloading of stores and supplies. ‘
  • Maintain inventory records for deliveries; goods received,‘ issued
    and rammed.
  • Prepare and maintain records of assets for disposal‘
  • Audit the inventory of each Department an a regular basis to make
    sure that they (inventories) tally with the physical count of the items
    enumerated.
  • Check items received to ensure that they are in good condition.
  • Ensure periodic (on a quarterly basis) stock taking
  • Control and maintain inventory levels.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold an honors bachelor’s degree in procurement
    and supply chain management
  • One year of relevant experience from a reputable organization.
  • Possession of an internationally recognized profession course such
    as CIP will be an added advantage.
  • Age: Below 40
    years
