Job Summary: The Controls Management Officer will direct
the day-to-day identification, assessment and escalation of risks to the Risk
Department for all units within the Operations domain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check to confirm that significant risks are identified and escalated
through the appropriate Control Governance channels in a timely manner - Oversee the end to end health of the control environment for all
units under the COO - Partner with the COO management team to create effective design,
analysis and remediation of control measures - Provide risk and controls consultancy, advice and guidance to the
COO management team - Tracking the rectification of all outstanding audit (internal and
external) findings - Effective interaction with all Unit heads within the COO domain
ensuring they are kept informed of key risks and issues and provided with
all relevant details - Identify process gaps and system failures and report with
recommendations to the COO - Maintaining an updated status of projects that are underway in the
COO’s domain - Monitoring compliance to the SLAs between operations and other
departments - Assist with the development and implementation of Operational Risk
and Compliance workshops and awareness programmes to all units within
Operations - Acts as the point of contact for all auditors (internal and
external) during fieldwork
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Bank Controls Management Officer job
placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree - Four years’ experience in a financial institution two of which
should be in banking operations - Professional qualification in banking is an advantage
- Strong Ms Excel skills
- An in-depth understanding of the business and control processes of
the bank - Willingness to question/challenge existing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical with good attention to detail and strong problem solving
skills - Ability to identify and engage with all stakeholders within the COO
domain - Efficient team player
- Can work independently
