HMH-RAINBOW Ltd is
an integrated business consisting of a feed mill, broiler farms and a chicken
processing facility located in Semuto, about 50kms outside of Kampala City. We
are currently seeking to recruit Sales Executives to work in Kuku Shops in
various towns in Uganda.
Job Summary:  The Communications Assistant will implement
diverse projects in brand, marketing and advertising to increase visibility of
and affinity for the Yo Kuku!, Enkoko and Kuku Feeds brands within the
HMH-Rainbow portfolio. Although the position is based in Kampala, the candidate
may be required to make upcountry travel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Internal
Communications
  • Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with
    communications manager
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all
    mediums and for different departments of the organisation
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external
    communication messages
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content
    accordingly
  • Ensure all organisational initiatives and projects are successfully
    communicated to employees and stakeholders
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal
    communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, monthly magazine or
    regular email bulletin. You may also be required to work on the layout of
    content
  • Managing internal events and seminars.
  • Work with sales and production staff members to build a meaningful
    relationship with customers
Digital Media
  • Assist in the general maintenance of company websites and social
    media pages
  • Monitor platforms and manage community moderation (answering
    comments, responding to messages and posting content) on social media
    platforms
  • Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing departments to plug in
    communications for activities such as sponsored events and sales offers
  • Assist in the development of information and marketing materials for
    digital, PR and traditional media that target HMH-Rainbow’s various
    stakeholders
  • Work closely with communications manager to generate bi-monthly,
    quarterly and annual reports detailing online activities
  • Assist in the development and enhancement        of branding for new marketing products
  • Ensuring all customer queries and feedback         online, in person and at the shops, are responded to within
    shortest time possible and in a positive manner to preserve the
    HMH-Rainbow
  • Document engagement activities and work           with the Communications Department in engaging with
    social media and other communication channels
  • Attend planning and department meetings            where necessary and all company events ensuring proper
    coverage of the events
  • Any other duty allocated from time to time including assistance with
    planning for activations, development of brand and advertising material
    for traditional media and retail visual development.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences,
    Marketing, Communications/Journalism, Economics/Business Administration,
    Business Information Technology with at least an option/experience in
    Social Media, Digital Marketing Experience
  • Three years of experience working in digital or general
    communications
  • Prior experience in working with the Private sector and or FMCG
  • Knowledge of digital and intranet technology used for internal
    communications like SharePoint
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills, including
    ability to communicate complex ideas to a range of audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective communication, and
    to generate trust and confidence among staff, at all levels including
    senior management
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to
    meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and present it
    clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work proactively, prioritise and manage individual
    workload
  • Skill in photography and design is an added advantage
