Officer
Initiative for Eastern Africa OSIEA’s particular focus will be on pastoralism,
land tenure governance, food systems and market access, governance and anti-corruption
climate change and a fair investment framework. The Open Society Initiative for
Eastern Africa promotes vibrant, tolerant democracies in the region by awarding
grants, developing programs, and bringing together diverse civil society
leaders and groups. The Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) is
implementing the health and rights program which advances health rights in the
region and current areas of focus include maternal health, harm reduction,
palliative care, access to medicines, and health rights of marginalized
populations.
administrative and finance support to the Uganda country office.
- Manage and oversee office administrative, and finance operations and
policies in the Uganda office. This will include settlement of financial
bills that fall due. - Provide general logistic support to the Uganda office and ensure the
smooth running of the office. - In consultation with the Administrative Manager, research, negotiate
and renew all office suppliers. - Order and procure all necessary office supplies and services.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and administrative requirements,
including local authority licenses, registration requirements, etc. - Process work permits and immigration related matters for foreign
staff. - Hire and supervise any part-time administrative staff in office.
- Assist in preparation of meetings, conferences and seminars.
- Support the HR and I.T functions when called upon.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Basic degree Business
Administration/finance or a related field - A minimum of three to four years of work experience in a similar
field. - Extraordinary initiative, creativity and capacity to think
strategically. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse array
of people. - Team spirit and respectful working and decision-making style.
- Ability to manage several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced
environment. - Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Integrity, diplomacy and professionalism will be essential.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
