Job Summary:  The Assistant Vocational Instructors will
assist the Instructor to interpret for the Trainees the medium of instruction
used to facilitate effective learning. The Training Assistant should preferably
be able to speak Swahili, French, Kinyabwisha, Runyoro-Rutooro- Runyankore-
Rukiga and English.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assist the Instructor in the delivery of the training content
  • Assist to Uphold and protect the Trainees from any form of Child
    abuse/ Violation of Rights.
  • Supervise trainees during the field practicum
  • Assist to supervise all the extra co-curricular activities such as
    sports and games, Crafts and any form of communal work.
  • Assist to ensure discipline of the students in and outside the
    Training workshops.
  • Assist to design a strategic remedial Training plan for slow
    Trainees.
  • Assist to prepare a conducive learning environment for the Trainees.
  • Assist in School Activities while on Duty.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by the
    supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Finn Church Aid (FCA) Assistant
    Vocational Instructor job should hold a Certificate or advanced vocational
    qualification in the relevant discipline.
  • Qualification in Pedagogical skills. Computer Literate and
    proficiency in
  • At least one (1) year experience in in the field and demonstrated
    experience in practical field in the area is required.
  • High integrity, self-driven and able to set own work schedule with
    rigorous deadlines.
  • Ability to initiate and complete assignments and to work under
    demanding circumstances with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal,
    communication as well as team building and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of one of the local languages
  • Willing to reside in Kyaka II refugee settlemen
