3 Study Nurses – Epicentre

About US:
In 1995, Epicentre
created a permanent research centre in Uganda to support MSF projects in the
region. The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara is to conduct clinical
research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public
health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre
collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology
(MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara
Research Centre. The Mbarara research centre is located in Mbarara
Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Administer informed consent to persons willing participate in the
    study and register patients included in the study.
  • Administer investigational Product following study protocol and
    Standard Operating Procedures and observe participants alter
    administration of investigational Product.
  • Complete case report forms and other study documents following study
    Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform drug accountability as well as drug requisition and inform
    the person in charge of the main pharmacy.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of her/his working station and equipment.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the Pl and the MSF/Epicentre
    Director.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in Nursing; Registered with Uganda
    Midwives and Nurses council.
  • Certificate in counseling
  • Good Clinical Practice certificate and Human Subject Protection
    certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience working with HIV patients
  • Previous experience in clinical research preferred
  • Fluent in English and Runyankore, spoken and written
  • Competencies: teamwork, flexibility, commitment and service
