Job Summary:  The Career counselor for Kyaka II BTVET School
will be charged with the duty of guiding graduated student groups on their path
to employment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The CC will be the link between the graduates and the employers.
  • Make a data base of potential employers with their contacts and
    locations
  • Ensure that every student who completes is registered followed up
    and ensure that they are working.
  • Facilitate the post-graduation model of Kyaka II BTVET centre in the
    settlement.
  • Meet with student groups every three weeks, follow-up on their
    employment plans and personal issues.
  • Direct students to job opportunities and gives guidance on career
    related issues.
  • Create innovative business opportunities in the settlement.
  • Operate as a focal point between student groups and all the
    stakeholders dealing with livelihoods.
  • Support the development of business plans and provide business
    incubation services.
  • Follows up on businesses started by graduated students and provide
    information and advice in business related issues including markets.
  • Monitor Business Skills Module in BTVET centre and advises the
    trainers when necessary.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Finn Church Aid (FCA) Career Counselor
    job should hold a Bachelor of business administration, Vocation Education,
    Development studies, community psychology, social work social Admin and
    any humanity degree.
  • A minimum of three years of working experience.
