young people in Uganda by placing young people at the forefront of change and
development. Our vision is for all Ugandan youth to live healthy and productive
lives, fully supported by those around them. Our programming focuses on three
core areas: youth sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth civic
participation and youth employment and livelihoods.
About YLA Program:
Chemonics
International in partnership with Restless Development is implementing Feed the
Future Uganda Youth Leadership for Agriculture Activity (YLA) which aims to
increase economic opportunities for 350,000 Ugandan female and male youth ages
10 to 35 years in agriculture-related fields and improve their skills
development (entrepreneurship, employability, leadership and life skills). The
overall approach for YLA is partner-driven, leveraging private and
public-sector actors, vocational training providers, NGOs, youth groups, local
government entities and community associations to reach youth. YLA will
implement an internship program targeting 18 young graduates aged 19-25 years.
The program will equip graduates with workplace skills and practical work
experience necessary for them to flourish in a competitive job market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide onsite technical assistance to SACCOs, Microfinance
    Institutions and VSLA’S. e.g. Install and configure Routers, APN cards and
    Network Boosters for connectivity.
  • Identify training need and conduct training for SACCOs staff and
    VSLA’s Members on how to use Mobis and VSLA application respectively.
  • Identify software defects or issues, Report the same to the
    Onboarding Manager and then follow-up on their resolutions
  • Identify issues with reports e.g. Trial Balance not balancing or
    Customers Accounts balance inconsistence and correct them where possible.
  • Help the SACCOs to enter data (backlog) into Mobis software and make
    sure that the system is Up-to-date
  • Help the SACCO prepare Data using the Data importation templates
  • Must ensure that the SACCOs fully use Mobis to serve its customers
    in real time.
  • Help the SACCOs to update missing customers bio data e.g. Date of
    birth, geographical area, telephone numbers, genders etc.
  • Advice the SACCOs on Best practices in the Sacco industry

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Restless Development Partnerships
    Liaison should hold a  Bachelor’s
    degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting.
  • Understand how SACCOs, Microfinance Institutions and Village Savings
    and Loan Associations work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word Processing and PowerPoint
  • Presentation skills
  • Teamwork, Flexibility, good communicator. Knowledge of English and
    at least 3 more local languages would be an added advantage.
