and Communities (APB) is a USAID-funded project which advances and supports
community programs that seek to improve the overall health of communities,
especially in relation to Family Planning (FP).
- The incumbent will coordinate all project data management tasks
including but not limited to database set up, data entry‘ data security
management, data quality management, and oversight of documentation. - He/ she will participate in activities related to research routine
monitoring, data quality control and assurance with an emphasis on
implementing and enforcing proper data collection and data entry practices - The incumbent will also take a lead role in coordinating the with
the Ministry of Health Reproductive Health Division and Health information
Department on Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (FP CIP) database
roll out. - He or she will work collaboratively with Ministry of Health (MOH)
and project staff, partners and other key stakeholders to plan, produce
and disseminate knowledge management products and to organize knowledge
management activities such as learning visits, consultations and
conferences on behalf of the MOH and the APC protect.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and
evaluation, Information Technology, demography, data management, social
science, statistics, or a related field with 4-6 years relevant
experience. OR Master’s degree with 2-4 years or relevant professional experience,
developing, managing and implementing health sector databases and
information systems - A background or understanding of data management principles critical
to this position especially data quality standards, verilicatinn and data
quality assessments. Candidate must have understanding of how data is
structured in databases - Familiarity with health data especially HIV/AIDS and Family planning
data is a key requirement. Familiarity with Ministry Of Health (MOH)
policies and organizational structures and history of involvement in the consultation process
for the CIP is an added advantage, as well as familiarity of the
operationalization ol the FP CIP. - A minimum of two years of
demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining databases with MS Access,
Epi-Info, MS Office Suite and other database development software - Proficiency in use of Qualitative software such as Nvivo, Atlas and
quantitative analysis programs such as STAT/A, SPSS, R and SAS is an added
advantage. - Previous experience working with USAID funded projects is preferred.
