Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Senior Social Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising and
    overseeing the site team and ensuring all aspects related to operations in
    the Community are handled by a team of Community Liaison Officers,
    Community Development Officers, Awango Officers and Grievance Officers.
  • The Job holder coordinates all engagement with local communities,
    civil society, local leaders and tourism stakeholders through the social
    site team. This also includes supervising the facilitation of mitigation
    measures identified in the Environmental Social Impact Assessments (ESIA)
    including the ongoing land acquisition and resettlement activities for
    both temporary and permanent land, the management of grievances and the
    control of contractors and, if necessary, their subcontractors.
  • Providing support to ensure ESIA, RAP and any other survey teams
    gain entry into and work within the communities;
  • Monitoring the implementation of the social impact management plans
    by project teams and contractors
  • Identifying unanticipated impacts, reporting these to the Company
    and the Government through the Responsible for Safety on Site (RSES) and
    the Social Affairs Coordinator.
  •  Ensure all grievances being
    handled by the CTLO’s are handled adequately, closed and handle as well as
    ensuring other emerging issues are handled without having to defer them
    issues to Kampala.
  • Understanding the social clauses in contractors and subcontractors
    contracts & monitor relations between Total’s contractors/sub-contractors
    and local communities;
  • Ensure necessary monitoring, reporting and feedback of activities
    through regular reporting on Total’s social performance. To monitor and
    report on compliance with the social clauses of contracts, as well as the
    overall standards of the Total Group including Total’s Code of Conduct,
    Ethics charter, and Health Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Charter.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidates for the TOTAL Senior Social Site Supervisor job
    placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science,
    Anthropology , Human Resources or equivalent.
  • At least fifteen years of experience working in rural communities in
    an oil  and gas project with at
    least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and
    maintain good relations with a wide range of stakeholders including local
    communities, Non-Governmental Organizations etc..
  • Good Supervisory, negotiation and conflict Management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office.
