Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training community water and sanitation committees and introducing
preventive maintenance services for water sources to rural communities - Training and working together with, district and sub-county
officials and councillors on public-private partnership implementation and
mobilization of preventive maintenance, Overseeing technical work of local
preventive maintenance technicians - Ensuring compliance to local laws with support from the relevant
stakeholders - Assist communities with tariff collection and development of
community water VSLAs - Manage financial and administrative tasks with integrity and efficiency
including managing community committees and pump attendants.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Whave Wash Service Officer job must hold
Degree level qualifications in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Adult
and Community Education, Social Work Social Administration or a related
field - At least two years of previous experience and understanding in
community development and local government structures in Uganda - High level communication and interpersonal skills,
- Adequate knowledge of Microsoft packages,
- Preferably the ability to ride a motorbike.
- Knowledge of Ateso language is a MUST
