About US:
Enabel (Belgian
development agency, formerly BTC), together with different Government
Ministries, are implementing the bilateral co-operation between Uganda &
Belgium.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure that all small threshold supplies, works and services
    purchased are efficient and of good quality (value for money);
  • Ensure proper working, use and maintenance of the supplies, works
    and services purchased by the various stakeholders;
  • Maintain and update registers and databases on purchases, services
    and program assets;
  • Ensure that all assets are labeled with tags;
  • Plan consolidate and schedule all movements of ENABEL staff,
    government officials and consultants;
  • Support the program in clearing imported goods/custom/duties. VAT,
    certifications..);
  • Organize the distribution of purchased goods to field offices as well
    as partners in Uganda;
  • Ensure that each vehicle has all documents required to circulate In
    accordance with the laws of the country (registration documents.
    appropriate number plate, car insurance, etc;
  • Control and follow up on the vehicle documents, tracking system,
    fuel consumption, maintenance and repairs;
  • Supervise a small team of drivers;
  • Establish all administrative documents (purchase requests, requests
    for prices, evaluation reports, local purchase orders) related to the
    purchases and logistics of the program;
  • Evaluate and maintain constructive relationship with the suppliers,
    employers and other partners.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Enabel Logistician job must hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Procurement and Logistics
    Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Diploma in Public Administration, Procurement, and Office
    management  is considered as an
    additional, advantage.
  • At least four (4) years proven experience in working on Logistics,
    Tendering, Administration with focus on small tendering procedures and
    logistic issues
  • Proven practical and related experience of at least 2 years in a
    reputable international organization, institution or company
  • Proven experience in leading successful a small team (2-5 people).
  • Personal competences:
  • Work independently, proactive and cope with a positive attitude to
    stressful situations;
  • High level of integrity in handling the organizations resources
    (both financial and physical resources);
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of software and database applications (MS Word, Excel and
    Access and Outlook) and learning ability for new innovative tools (shared
    servers, efiling, E RP-systems);
Salary: Enabel
will offer a competitive salary package with a gross monthly salary income of
between UGX 2.200.000 and UGX 2.750.000 depending on the relevant years of work
experience, medical insurance for staff, spouse and biological dependents plus
a 13th Month compulsory package paid together with the December salary.
