In 1995, Epicentre
created a permanent research centre in Uganda to support MSF projects in the
region. The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara is to conduct clinical
research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public
health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre
collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology
(MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara
Research Centre. The Mbarara research centre is located in Mbarara
Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala.

Job Summary: The Supervisor Medical Data Entry will
participate in study participant recruitment at assigned study sites in
Mbarara. Ibanda. Ntungamo and Sheema in data collection and medical data entry
in study project electronic database. Supervise, organise and plan the
study-related activity of Community healthcare workers (CHWs) or Voluntary
Health Teams under the supervision of the CaP TB CONTACT Study coordinator.

study-related activity of Community healthcare workers (CHWs) or Voluntary

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete electronic CRF according to electronic Case report form
completion guidelines. GCP and SOP’s - Supervise, organise and plan the study-related activity of Community
healthcare workers (CHW) or Voluntary Health Teams for data collection,
patient follow-up. as well as identify their training needs in order to
provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected. - Build synergies with Health facility staff. CHWs. TB focal persons
and CaP TB EGPAF team at the site so as to - ensure smooth implementation of the study activities.
- Engage in patient recruitment activities like, screening,
consenting. HIV testing and counselling, etc - Do quality control Community Healthcare workers’ performance on
regular basis. - Support the Investigators in the implementation of the study
procedures according to Study protocol and Standard Operating Procedures - Make weekly reports and communications with the study coordinators,
and Data manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold qualifications in any of the
following: health-related field, social science, counselling, data-entry or
degree in Information and Technology (IT). - One year working experience in clinical research or community-based
studies, data collection, and data- entry. - Essential working experience of at least one year with MSF/Epicentre
is an added advantage. - Knowledge of ICH guidelines. GCP. and the clinical trial study
process is an added advantage. - Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
- Flexible for regular travel to study sites within the country.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
