solutions in Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania. Village Power
offers a range of home solar systems to our customers throughout Uganda. At Village
Power we place a lot of focus on our customers; they are at the centre of
everything we do: our products, our trainings, and our after sales service. Our
Village Power Centres (VPC) are the places where many of our customers first
visit us and learn about solar power, they are the places that customers will
come to collect their systems, and they are the places that customers will come
when they have questions about or problems with their systems.

Job Summary: The Marketing and Communications officer will
play a key role in developing & executing effective communications and
media related campaigns that address all relevant stakeholders in order to
increase brand awareness and increase sales.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inform and execute marketing and public relations activity.
- Build and manage media relationships.
- Coordinate with Village Power management and staff to identify key
relevant topics that need to be addressed with different audiences. - Create content for campaigns, press releases, articles and key
presentations. - Create, distribute & manage marketing material.
- Represent the company at key events.
- Maintain a keen understanding of the industry trends affecting
clients in order to align our marketing and communications plans,
accordingly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must have a solid education and training in marketing,
communications or related discipline. - A minimum of three years of proven experience as a marketing and PR
professional who has worked on successful campaigns. - Strong relationships with media outlets.
- Ability to effectively address audiences through public speaking.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Event planning experience.
- A vibrant, confident and social individual.
- Industry knowledge would be of advantage.
