Job Summary: The Manager Cash Management Operations will
primarily monitor and oversee timely and accurate clearing and processing of
payments and receipts in relation to operational and client transactions in
compliance with operating guidelines. These payments are both local and
International.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify and approve payments and receipts / remittances for
operational and client transactions as per the set limit timely,
accurately within daily cut off times and deadlines - Investigate and clear any reconciliation items in a timely manner
- Charged with the responsibility of reporting suspicious activity in
line with the AML/CFT, KYC programs in line with the bank policies /
regulatory framework - Proactively research new payment methods and solutions with a view
of achieving more streamlined process and/or improved customer experience. - Investigate and clear queries in a timely manner, provide update and
escalations of queries internally and externally, keeping stakeholders
informed of any issues or difficulties. - Review service reports for the processing and clearing unit to
detect service failures and enforce corrective measures - Drive process improvement by identifying process gaps and
implementing system enhancements for all areas in the unit - Manage, motivate and develop staff and foster a team approach by
actively building strong working relationships within the unit as well as
identification of training needs. - Maintain good intra & interdepartmental communications by
working closely with the other units and external parties - Prepare and submit reports to the Head of Central Operations on
operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements
within agreed timescales - Introduce and maintain service standards that are measurable
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Bank Manager Cash Management Operations
job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree required in Commerce,
Accounting or Business Statistics or another field - Diploma in Banking is an added advantage
- Training in various areas of Operations: – i.e. Fraud Prevention,
KYC, CFT & AML, Operation Risk control & Compliance. - Five years of working experience in Banking operations.
- Cognate experience in Banking operations, process Improvement as
well as Operational risk. - Thorough understanding of Bank procedures, policies and regulatory
requirements - Good Knowledge and Experience in examining and re-engineering
processes and implementing new processes and procedures - Ability to supervise, train staff, including organizing,
prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. - Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Employee development and performance management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the back office operation, procedures
and processes. - The ability to identify and engage with all the key stake holders in
the organization - A good understanding of Bank of Uganda and international Trade
Finance regulations and guidelines of payments and receipts. - General awareness of risk management practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Proactive approach to work with a high level of maturity and
self-drive - Appreciation for structure and attention to detail.
