aged 12-24 years with complete information, skills and tools to enable them to
live healthy, focused and productive lives.
Job Summary:   The Innovation Analyst will be responsible
for providing Technical support to the management of Reach a Hand Uganda (RAHU)
innovations in order to strengthen the organizations existing platforms. To
this end, the Innovation Analyst shall assist in the design, planning and
management of Reach A Hand Uganda’s (RAHU)’s Innovation activities; and will
support the delivery of projects around innovation solutions by working closely
with the Chief of Staff; the programs team; the Lead Innovation Architect and
consultants.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with crafting requirements that enable, enhance and empower
    the ability of designers or developers to innovate.
  • Supporting the running of experiments using the Human Centered
    Design (HCD) approach using the latest technology to get closer to
    authentic human behavior.
  • Confidently conveying the requirements and insights to the
    management team, project managers, external consultants and other partners
    that will forge the next stage of a project.
  • Supporting the implementation of solutions from conception to
    initiation by providing information, managing stakeholders and engaging in
    all the key business analysis tasks that need to be completed in order to
    implement a solution.
  • Supporting facilitation innovation workshops that help stakeholders
    identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Work with external consultants to understand existing innovations
    that have already been deployed by the team.
  • Providing technical support in form of quick fixes or feature
    modifications for existing innovations where applicable.
  • Act as a project lead/manager for the development and rollout of new
    innovations i.e. updating stakeholders on progress; and ensuring that the
    different parties deliver according to agreed upon parameters.
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of innovation
    activities.
  • Supporting activities to develop capacity for innovation within RAHU
    by synthesizing and documenting findings and lessons learned, success
    stories and good practices.
  • Popularizing RAHU innovations at/on national and International
    platforms and fora.
  • Communicating both internally and externally, the achievements and
    insights of the RAHU innovation initiative through social media, internal
    web platforms and the public RAHU webpage.
  • Providing administrative and coordination support to the RAHU
    fundraising objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Software
    Engineering, Computer Science, and Business Computing from a recognized
    university 
  • One to two years of research and or business analysis experience.
  • Experience using prototyping, storyboarding and business modelling
    software (Marvel, Axure, Balsamiq, Visio)
  • Creative problem solver, often considering unorthodox yet feasible
    (Outside-of-the-box thinking) ways to push the design, and sharing these
    with others.
  • Attention to details with great sense of ownership.
  • Teamworking orientation, and strong self-organization.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Master’s degree of Science in any field with focus on creativity
    and research in include: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business
    Computing.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience within the innovation
    landscape.
  • Knowledge of RAHU’s core mandate.
  • Design oriented thinking knowledge.
  • Knowledge of prototyping, storyboarding and business modelling
    software (Marvel, Axure, Balsamiq, Visio).
