Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through
research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. We are a global
leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 15 countries and
at 7,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children,
and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful
work of the Foundation and its partners over the last 25 years, pediatric AIDS
has been virtually eliminated in the United States and new infections in
children have declined by 58% worldwide. EGPAF Uganda Country program is
currently implementing a number of projects in partnership with various donors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in close liaison with the Program Officers, support the
District Health Officer and/or designated district health office staff in
developing quarterly and annual budgets. - Ensure swift disbursement of funds for program activities and ensure
that all requests processed are within the district approved work plans
and budgets. - Participate in monitoring of the implementation of the
project-funded activities and ensure that they are implemented in line
with the agreed upon implementation plan - Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual activity financial reports for
various districts and thematic areas. - Prepare other regular financial reports, analysis and correspondence
as required by various stakeholders. - Support in capturing of transactions in the accounting system in a
timely and accurate manner. - Work in close liaison with the Senior Finance Officer, track monthly
advances to the project staff and district teams. - Provide financial support to the team members and resolution of finance
related queries. - Check activity payment requests, identifying unrealistic requests
and suspicious accountabilities. - Ensure that the organization’s financial regulations are followed
and provide appropriate training and guidance to teams. - Check the correct procedures including appropriate approvals and
ensure they are followed for all transaction. - Check the accuracy and validity of the transactions of the field
activities. - Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant job placement must
hold a Diploma in Accounting and Finance from a reputable Institution. An
additional certification in the related field will be of an added
advantage. - At least three years of working experience in a similar position,
preferably with a USAID funded agency or nongovernmental organization. - Prospective candidates should have experience working with Local
Government partners and knowledge of their operations. - Good analytical ability.
- Good knowledge and experience in using
Quick Books accounting package. - Good level of competence in excel, word and outlook.
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
