implement the USAID Uganda Project The Social and Behavior Change for Transformation
(SBC4T) Activity whose aim is to increase the ability of individuals,
households, and communities to adopt priority behaviors that will result in
improved health and development outcomes through social and behavior change
(SBC). The focus will be on family planning and reproductive health; HIV/AIDS;
malaria; nutrition; maternal, neonatal, and child health; water, sanitation,
and hygiene (WASH); emerging pandemic threats and other infectious diseases;
and, to a certain extent, other non-health development activities in education,
economic growth, and democracy and governance, as the need arises.
leadership and managerial direction for the anticipated Social and Behavior
Change for Transformation (SBC4T) Project. S/he will fulfill the diverse
managerial requirements of the project Based in Uganda, the COP will have
technical and management responsibility for all activities and personnel and
will be the Recipient’s representative to USAID/Uganda, Government of Uganda
(GOU), other donors, and key stakeholders. The COP will have overall
responsibility for addressing award related matters. S/he will be responsible
for the smooth implementation of the project, and for effectively addressing
problems and challenges that arise during performance. S/he is responsible for
timely and accurate delivery of all reports and other program products. He/she will provide
overall leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of SBC
strategies to address the need of behavior change related to health (FP/RH,
MNCAH, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other selected health areas) and development
sectors.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in public health,
communication/behavior change, social sciences, international development,
or a related field. - A minimum of ten years senior level management experience in the
design, implementation, and management of social and behavior change
programs of similar size, complexity, and setting.
