Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC)

Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization.
IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and
Tuberculosis. Our studies have led to over 150 publications and have impacted
on the management of infectious diseases in Uganda. IDRC currently manages over
41 grants with an annual budget of $11 million. IDRC was established in May
2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of health
sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of
health.
- Carry out process tracking of Global Fund and GAVI streams of
funding at national and sub-national levels by: - Participant observation at meetings.
- Key informant interviews
- Will be in charge of reviewing documents and synthesizing
information for the inception phase that will inform the Theories of
change, data assessment mapping and the evaluation phase planning. - Actively participate in development of data collection tools, and
data collection - activities tracking processes pertaining to the implementation of
Global Fund and GAVI streams of funding in Uganda at national and
sub-national levels. - Synthesize and analyze data in accordance to milestone tables and
theories of change. - Contribute to the development of Global Fund and GAVI annual country
reports, as well as cross country reports and policy briefs - Participate dissemination meetings for Global Fund PCE and GAVI
findings to all stakeholders - Participate in planning stakeholder meetings pertaining to process
evaluation
- The Research Officer must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of these
fields: Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Public Health,
Social Work & Social Administration, Development Studies. - Masters Degree in Public Health or a related field is a MUST
- Previous experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
- Good knowledge of health systems especially HIV/TB, Malaria and
immunization programs in Uganda - Skills in computer based data collection and strong quantitative
research experience - Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under stringent deadlines and to work independently
