About US:
The Uganda Refinery
Holding Company (URHC) is a Private Limited Liability Company incorporated
under the Companies Act (2012). It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Uganda
National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd. The purpose of the URHC is to hold, on behalf
of UNOC, interest in the refinery project planned to be developed in Kabaale,
Hoima District and its associated infrastructure. URHC has also been given the
mandate to develop, operationalize and manage the 29.57 km2 Kabaale petro-based
Industrial Park (KIP).
Job Summary:  The Trading Manager-Downstream will be
responsible for establishing organizational processes, market development,
stakeholder linkages, client relations and operational systems for the
Downstream Trading Division, in collaboration with other teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Identify and coordinate regional and local logistics processes for
    the supply and distribution of petroleum products, in liaison with
    relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct market surveys and carry out supply and demand analysis to
    inform procurement and stocking of petroleum products.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies including promotions and
    new products’ development initiative.
  • Prepare and implement supply plans for petroleum products.
  • Develop a pricing strategy for the sale and marketing of petroleum
    products.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a Quality,
    Health, Social, Security, Safety and Environment (QH3SE) system, in
    liaison with QH3SE team members.
  • Identify and engage with potential clients and other company
    stakeholders.
  • Monitor trends in petroleum products’ specifications, technology,
    industry performance and market requirements.
  • Establish a client management system to continuously improve
    customer service levels.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by
    the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in either
    Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Statistics,
    Industrial Chemistry, or Marketing.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related
    area of study in (a) above, from an internationally recognised University.
  • Training in HSE principles is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years relevant working experience, five (5)
    of which must be in petroleum trading business in a reputable
    organisation.
  • Experience in market development processes is an added advantage.
