Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a
partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall
objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on
Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five
operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention,
Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided
through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University
Core Lab) and Outreach.

operating procedures.
- Perform data quality control and assurance reviews as per the study
standard operating procedures; - Enter study participant data into the study database in a timely
manner as per the study standard operating procedures; - Ensure the timely resolution of data queries as per the study
standard operating procedures; - Manage and maintain secure custody of study participant source
records as per the study standard operating procedures; - Print and file study participant visit schedules;
- Obtain and document informed participant consent;
- Perform any other study – related delegated by the study Principal
Investigator.
- The applicant for the Data Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s degree
in statistics, library and information science, computer science,
information technology, or other information management related field. - Possess technical certifications and training in Database management
and administration. - At least two years of hands-on experience in data entry and
management - Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to be a good team
player. - Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to
prioritize, schedule and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment. - Demonstrable knowledge and competence in the use of standard MS
Office software including Excel spreadsheets. - Working knowledge of computer systems and hardware.
