Curator
Development (PED) is a US founded non-profit organization dedicated to
empowering schools and unifying communities through sustainable education. PED
believes in the liberating power and opportunities provided by a quality
education. Our model was developed to empower schools to improve their own
educating circumstances: the school environment, livelihoods of teachers, and
access for under resourced students and to do so in a way that is sustainable.
Story Curator to collect and record traditional Ugandan stories from their
region. The Story Corps members will also be asked to transcribe and translate
collected stories. The position will be based in the corp member’s local
region.
Identify
community elders/members with traditional stories to share.
Coordinate
and facilitate the recording of 5 traditional stories per month in a natural
environment
Transcribe
and translate each story into line by line script for submission to Story
Curator
Suggest
relevant cultural activities to include at the end of each story
Aiding
the Country Director & Story Curator in the capture of podcast material.
The applicant
must hold a UACE Certificate
Demonstrated
community involvement, extensive knowledge of local customs and traditions
Required
Superior
oral and written communication skills in English and a relevant local language
(Runyakore/Rukiga, Dhopadhola, Ngakarimojong,) Required
Computer
fluency and understanding of Microsoft Suite Required
Preferred
Languages: Ngakarimojong,
Runyakore/Rukiga & Dhopadhola
