Job Summary: The Senior Officer – Business Advisory shall
be responsible for ensuring that the Bank proactively identifies any structural
or operational gaps that may impede the successful implementation of projects
by its current/prospective clients; and thereafter coordinate various service
providers (both internal & external) to provide the required training,
knowledge, skills & best-practice transfer or other relevant interventions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the need for Advisory Services for the Bank’s clients
- Determine the nature, mode of provision
- Determine the resources requirements for the advisory services
- Conduct or outsource to competent experts to conduct the advisory
service on approval by management. - Liaise with the Investment, M & E and Research team of the Bank
to identify such clients that would require the advisory services. - Guide the Bank on the applicable fees structure for the business
advisory services - Regularly, provide updated information on the status of the clients’
business after implementation of the advisory services - Continually assess the effectiveness on the clients’ business, of
the business advisory services provided - Monitor and evaluate the impact of the Advisory services on the
portfolio performance - Develop tools for measuring the success rate of advisory services
provided by the Bank, and report on the same - Guide the procurement team of the Bank during pre-qualifications and
evaluation exercise of bidders to provide advisory services
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) Senior Officer –
Business Advisory career opportunity must hold a good Bachelor’s
degree in a related field of study (including Finance, Economics, Business
or Banking) from a recognised education institution; - Any related post-graduate qualification is an added advantage
- Previous experience in project management, investment banking or a
business advisory role is essential; - Five years of experience within the above job function as a
consultant, mid-level professional or manager. - Excellent Communication (oral & written) skills, including
strong report and proposal writing abilities - Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of national and regional business trends –
sound commercial awareness and business acumen - Ability to manage/work with multidisciplinary teams
- Good interpersonal/relational skills
- Proven capabilities in scoping & developing business
opportunities - Learner training/instruction abilities
