with Refugee beneficiary households, schools and host community of Kyaka II
Refugee Settlement in Kyegegwa District. His/her major role (s) will be
coordinating with Biogas construction enterprises (BCEs) for biogas promotion,
sensitization and installation in schools and households. The Project Officer,
Biogas will report directly to the Project Manager, Bio-Livelihoods
- Beneficiary identification, verification and selection.
- Carry out biogas community sensitizations and trainings aimed at
selecting interested Farmers for biogas construction - Coordinate with Biogas Construction Companies (BCEs), masons and
other stakeholders like community biogas promoters to carry out domestic
biogas awareness, promotion and marketing activities, and installation of
domestic and institutional biogas digesters - Distributing biogas construction material to selected beneficiary
households and schools. - Mobilize biogas beneficiaries and organize for trainings on
operation and maintenance of biogas units. - Conduct follow up visits and on spot biogas user training sessions
focusing on daily plant feeding and management services and
troubleshooting of the biogas appliances. - Set up bio-slurry demonstration plots at selected households and
mobilize potential biogas beneficiaries for exchange visits - Ensure Regular checks on plants both under construction and or
finished to verify if quality standards have been applied and after sales
services are provided to the beneficiaries and provide report to the
Project manager. - Generate monthly work plans for quality control visits, sales
targets, after-sales, and trouble-shooting exercise. - Write and submit periodic reports to the project manager
- Keep accurate records for all project activities under your supervision
- Guard with absolute discretion all information that one has access
to during the time one is carrying out ones functions; - Collection of all the required data from the communities as need may
arise - Maintain a Christian witness to the communities we serve, visitors
and vendors. - With a generous and serving spirit perform all other tasks and
responsibilities assigned to him/her.
- The applicant for the Samaritan’s Purse Project Officer, Biogas job
placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in water engineering,
Agriculture, community development or other relevant field and fluency in
the local language, Kiswahili or Kinyabwisha and Lugbara will be of an
added advantage. - A minimum of five years of related work experience
- Excellent planning, coordination, prioritization, and time
management skills - Strong analytical skills with ability to make independent judgment
and decisions, ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional
and organizational codes of ethics, proactive, resourceful,
solutions-oriented and results-oriented, possesses strong cross cultural
communication skills and knowledge of computer systems and its
applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook. - Highly dynamic, personable and a team player
