The Uganda Refinery
Holding Company (URHC) is a Private Limited Liability Company incorporated
under the Companies Act (2012). It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Uganda
National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd. The purpose of the URHC is to hold, on behalf
of UNOC, interest in the refinery project planned to be developed in Kabaale,
Hoima District and its associated infrastructure. URHC has also been given the
mandate to develop, operationalize and manage the 29.57 km2 Kabaale petro-based
Industrial Park (KIP).

Job Summary: The Manager – Engineering will be tasked with
the optimization of NPC assets to achieve business growth and sustainability
through innovation and business process improvements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement processes and procedures for technical validation and
implementation of engineering processes and technologies. - Oversee the process of conceptual and feasibility studies of
potential projects, and re-engineering of processes and products. - Work with the pipelines and storage infrastructure teams to identify
and deploy technologies that improve performance, asset integrity and
operational efficiency. - Lead the process of gathering engineering innovative ideas in
liaison with other team members, to ensure technical and commercial
viability as well as value optimisation. - Oversee the process of approving engineering designs and processes.
- Ensure business sustainability through implementation of waste
reduction strategies, energy efficient systems and processes and the
adoption of green technologies. - Develop, implement, and document processes for design, value
engineering and cost reduction activities. - Manage change and stakeholders, in the engineering of projects,
processes and products. - Carry out engineering audits of NPC projects and processes to ensure
compliance with standards. - Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the
supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering from an internationally recognized
University. - Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, industrial
engineering, or any relevant engineering degree from an internationally
recognized University. - Registered with the Engineers Registration Board and Professional
Membership with an accredited engineering body. - At least eight (8) years of relevant working experience in in a
reputable company or organization. - Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent will be an
added advantage. - Professional certification in Project Management is an added
advantage. - Demonstrable leadership and team building skills, and ability to
inspire team members; - Possess strong understanding of the petroleum value chain.
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of business development or
product development lifecycle.
