Co., LLC (URC) is implementing the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance
Health Services in East Central Uganda Project (USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose
aim is to support the implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment
in regional health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The
five-year project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated
total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of
quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.
leadership and coordinate malaria project activities. He/She will work closely
with the other specialists and technical advisors including HIV care and
treatment, HIV prevention, PMTCT, TB/HIV and RMNCH to support malaria
interventions in the context of integrated programming to supported districts.
The Malaria specialist under close supervision of Technical Advisor’ Malaria
Will work in liaison with Ministry of Health (MoH), and relevant stakeholders
to improve the quality of health care services in target districts Job
Specifications:
- Work closely with the Technical Advisor Malaria to support districts
adhere to the test and treat policy. - Work with the Technical Advisor Malaria, MOH and DHTs to conduct
malaria audits in supported sites - Attend national level meetings organized by MDH and donors
(USAID/PMI) as requested by his/her supervisor. - Support collaborative efforts with a wide array of organizations,
including district-level partners, the National Malaria Control Program
(NMCP), and other government counterparts to plan, implement and monitor
malaria related activities including capacity building efforts. - Actively participate in brainstorming and development of research
agendas and any special projects related to malaria. - Participate in development of annual work land and reports for
submission to donors
- The applicant for the USAID RHITES-EC Malaria Specialist job
opportunity must be a Medical Doctor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine
or equivalent Master’s degree in any health field will be an added
advantage - One to three years of professional experience working in development
assistance projects in malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment
programs, ideally working closely with DHOs in technical programming - Keen attention to detail is a must
- Experience with USAID/PMI and other donor projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong
interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
