Finance Manager
(STF) is a health communications National Non Governmental Organisation that
was founded in 1993. For the past 25 years it has been the leading provider of
various social and behavior change communication programs to various
stakeholders in Uganda. The organization has immense experience in the use of
modern communication program approaches in addressing diverse health and
development issues. STF implements activities through print, radio and face to
face communication. Its programs and interventions target young people as its
primary audience, while parents and teachers are its secondary audience. STF
utilises highly effective behaviour change communication models and combines
mass media and face to face community outreach and mobilization programs.

- Processes staff, statutory and on-line payments
- Cross check and enter staff accountabilities into Navision software
- Prepare financial reports in line with STF financial guidelines
- Prepare organizational budgets in line with organizational needs and
donor funded projects - Carry out bank reconciliations in line with STF’s financial
operating procedures - Take lead in ensure proper filling of all finance and accounting
documents - Ensure all funds advanced to staff
- The ideal candidate for the Straight Talk Foundation (STF) Finance
Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or
Business administration (Accounting option) or other related field.
ACCA/CPA qualification will be an added advantage. - At least three years of experience in finance or audit in a busy
local or international organization. - Knowledge of Accounting packages especially NAVISION;
- NSSF and URA policy guidelines on social security and taxation;
- Principles and practices of general, fund, and NGO accounting;
principles and practices of cost and fixed asset accounting; internal
control and audit principles and practices; - Budgeting; laws and ordinances relating to the financial
administration of donor funded agencies; practices and methods of donor
funded agency financing; - Principles and practices of petty cash management;
- Financial management issues; principles and practices of business
data processing particularly related to the processing of accounting and
financial information; - Principles and practices of maintenance of donor records
- Ability to analyze and make sound recommendations on financial data
and operations - Ability to understand, interpret, explain and apply state laws
relating to financial accounting, taxation, reporting and record keeping - Experience in managing petty cash
- Experience in implementing financial procedures and controls
- Exercise independent judgment within general policy guidelines
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all
levels of STF - Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Make technical decisions

- Ability to work with people and organizations of diverse backgrounds
