Co., LLC (URC) is implementing the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance
Health Services in East Central Uganda Project (USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose
aim is to support the implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment
in regional health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The
five-year project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated
total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of
quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.
strategic planning, coordination and technical leadership for VMMC
implementation in the 10 districts. Joint planning and implementation with MoH,
district health teams, USAID RHITES-EC teams is core for this position to ensure
quality standards are met and stakeholder satisfaction
- Carry out a rapid assessment of
SMC-specific health facility infrastructure, equipment, staffing, and
training needs, and develop and support site -specific action plans for
roll-out of VMMC activities. - Coordinate training and on-site support
for VMMC teams in 11 supported districts - Set-up quality assurance and control
procedures for VMMC, including quality improvement and quality assurance
activities - Support districts and facility teams to
mobilize eligible males for TT vaccination and circumcision - Closely monitor weekly VMMC outputs per
site and ensure targets allocated to each site/district are achieved - Supervise VMMC sites and ensure
adherence to national standards and guidelines - Work closely with the M&E team,
develop systems for effective monitoring and evaluation of VMMC activities - Supervise the CSO contracted to do VMMC
camps and ensure national standards and guidelines are adhered to. - Prepare VMMC program reports
- Take up any other duties as may be
assigned.

Technical Adviser VMMC job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
medicine (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution, with a
post-graduate qualification in Public Health or any other Health related
field - A minimum of five years with HIV
programming experience in Uganda. Experience in implementing VMMC
activities is required. - Registered with the Uganda Medical and
Dental Practitioners Council. - Demonstrated ability to strategically
plan and manage successful implementation of activities. - Excellent oral and written communication
skills - Experience with East Central region
- Thorough knowledge of international good
practices on safe medical male circumcision preferred. - Good budgeting skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience working with district health
system - Experience working with PEPFAR programs
- Good problem solving skills
