non-government organization created by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in 1987
to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre
has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre for research in
epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around
three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.
- Support the PIs in the implementation of studies following study
protocol - Screening and enrolment of study participants according to the
exclusion and inclusion criteria. - Obtaining informed consent from eligible study participants
- To perform clinical assessment of the patients at enrolment and
follow-up visits - To ensure that all clinical and laboratory testing required by the
study is performed - Clinical management and referral and follow up of sick participants during
follow up - To ensure accurate completion of study documents including logs and
case report form (CRF) in accordance to GCP at enrolment and during the
follow-up. - To take up any duties as may be assigned by the PIs and/or
MSF/Epicentre Director
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery (MBChB) - Masters in paediatrics or extensive paediatric clinical experience
- Good clinical practice certificate.
- Clinical experience in internal medicine and/or Infectious Diseases
and/or Respiratory Medicine. - Full registration with the Uganda Medical and dental Practitioners’
Council (UMDPC), current practicing license. - Previous experience in clinical research preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office
