Acholi Project (Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Northern
Uganda – Acholi), USAID will continue its support of the Government of Uganda’s
(GOU) efforts to improve access to and use of health services in the country’s
post-conflict northern region. RHITES-N Acholi Project activities will build on
USAID investments and national advances to increase access to and use of
high-quality integrated services that accelerate the ability and capacity to
respond to the specific health needs of residents in the Acholi sub-region,
leveraging the URC-ASSIST project successes.
as the overall stores management officer to the RHITES-N, Acholi project to
ensure smooth functioning of the stores and ensuring that the project needs are
met. S/he will provide direct technical
stores management function to ensure effective, safe and appropriate storage of
all supplies that transit through the project stores. S/he will regularly
provide the vital stock information needed to carry out forecasting,
quantification, procurement planning, ordering, reporting, storage, and general
supplies management.
- Ensure compliance to stock management procedures (LMIS tools, records,
filling and identification). - Work with the District Stores/Inventory officers to build the
capacity of Facility Stores assistants in order to improve on proper store
management in all facilities. - Build a contact data base for all store in charges in project
supported facilities and profile the stores for targeted improvement
support. - Support the Supply Chain and Laboratory Teams in receiving,
verifying and dispatch of pharmaceutical and Laboratory supplies to
designated destinations. - Ensure correct documentation and record keeping of all received and
dispatched commodities and supplies to supported facilities. - Build capacity of district counterparts on proper management of
supplies. Support redistribution of medicine and supplies when needed. - Ensure correct preparation of deliveries as per allocations from the
program staff. - Ensure proper physical stock management requirements (organization,
cleaning, temperature monitoring etc.). - Monitor stock viability, with special attention to the expiry date
of commodities, and warn the concerned persons four months before expiry
date. - Conduct monthly inventory of stock and ensure that stock cards are
created, up-to-date, and accurate. - Prepare and submit weekly stock status updates and monthly Stores
management activities reports - Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, D-COP, or
COP.
- The applicant for the USAID Project Stores and Supply Chain Officer
job must hold a degree in supply chain management, or related field. - Three years’ experience in providing technical support for improved
management of stores and supply chain for public health programs such as
HIV, MNCH, TB, and others in Uganda, with preferred experience in
logistics management. - Experience working with public healthcare facilities, including
provision of mentoring and coaching support to healthcare providers. - Two years’ experience of working with NMS, districts and health
facilities. - Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
