complex in Masese, Jinja. BUL has also developed 10,000 hectares of oil palm
plantations on Bugala Island, Kalangala District as a backward integration
component. All these are geared at serving the African markets with our brands
of fortified edible oils, fats and laundry soap.

Job Summary: The Speed Boat Driver will mainly operate the
speed boat, ensure safety of all people and equipment/supplies on board while
travelling on water

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will transport personnel
and equipment by vessel across Lake Victoria to the Islands including
anchoring, handling ropes and steering the boat to safe parking. - Ensure safe operation and navigation of
the boat. - Routine maintenance to ensure good
working condition of the boat and equipment on board, such as engines,
radio calls, torches, ropes, fire extinguishers, and lifejackets. - Instruct and guide staff/visitors on
water safety before onboarding - Advise the company on water travel times.
- Update and maintain records of official
trips and their mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes - Prepare monthly fuel and maintenance
reports
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must be a holder of
an ordinary level certificate of education - At least two years’ experience in water
craft and Driving. - Valid driving permit that authorizes one
to drive a boat - Ability to effectively deal with any
problems in open waters. - Good knowledge of Lake Victoria landing
sites and islands - Water safety knowledge and skills is an
added advantage. - Ability to swim for at least 50 meters
is an added advantage
