Director of Programmes
Network Uganda (CODNET Uganda) is a growing consortium of CSOs undertaking
programs in governance, Oil and gas (extractives) Environment, human rights,
land governance among others. It operates currently in 10 Districts composed of
8 in Bunyoro region, Nwoya and Mityana districts with an aim of building strong
active citizens. Over the years, the organizational needs have grown and its
staffing needs continue to grow to align its strategic plan and program needs.
preparation and presentation of highly quality multiple project and program
reports, lead programme management and report; support CODNET-Uganda efforts;
fundraise; and support communication function in line with CODNET-Uganda
polices. Support adherence to high standards in programme delivery with strict
observance of existing contractual obligations with various development
partners.
- Provide technical support and leadership to CODNET- Uganda programme
staff, ensuring that they meet their contractual and professional
obligations. - Support the implementation of the communication strategy and ensure
effective information and communication sharing - Provide support in regard to communications/ publications portfolio,
including the website and other social media, ensuring quality and
standards - Strengthen networking and information sharing among project
stakeholders at local and national levels - Provide technical support, oversight and team leadership in the
successful planning & implementation of CODNET- Uganda programmes at
local, regional and national levels. - Support regular monitoring and evaluation of programmes to ensure
that project goals and objectives are met and implementation is on-track - Ensure that regular project progress reports are of good quality,
accurate, timely and follow formats provided. - Complement the monitoring, Evaluation and Learning aspects of CODNET
Uganda - Ensure that data is collected, professionally documented and where
appropriate analysed to ensure proper record keeping and reporting - Ensure lessons learnt are discussed, documented and disseminated to
all stakeholders and as may be requested by management. - Actively engage in resource mobilisation activities and attract
funding to support organisation programmes. - Identify staff development needs and liaise with the Director of
Programmes to ensure appropriate follow-up and ensure on going coaching
and on-the-job training of key technical resource staff. - Lead the capacity building and mentorship efforts for member
organisations and other actors - Perform any other professional and organisational assignment as
assigned by the supervisor and or CODNET.
- The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Development Studies,
Social Work and Social Administration, Human Rights, Project Planning and
Management, Public Administration or any other related field with a
demonstrated experience - At least five years of relevant work/academic /leadership
experience; - Good understanding of governance work and political context of
Uganda. - Excellent organizational skills and ability to nurture staff to
deliver quality outputs; - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to
represent - Basic financial and computer skills;
- Excellent report writing skills with a strong background of
reporting to various development partners.
