Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist will be
responsible for the following; In charge of GIS data management for
Tilenga and East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Uganda, centralizing
all GIS information - Tasked with conducting their work in Compliance with the Company’s
IT security principles, procedures, International Standards &
Recommendations. - Providing reliable data and map editions required by different users
within Tilenga and EACOP Uganda, TEP Uganda and Total Headquarters - Providing the upstream and midstream survey contractors with
existing GIS data Sets as required while ensuring the information meets
terms of use by external contractors - Tasked with validating the correctness of geo-date and providing
reliable data, leading and developing a communication and data exchange
with other GIS teams at Total E&P - Executing all types of geodetic checks, transformations and surface
calculations - Participating in the developing and ensuring proper implementation
of operational Web GIS applications in both EACOP and TEP Uganda and
ensuring its administration - Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with
Partners, Government Authorities and HQ for obtaining and exchanging of
GIS information considering confidentiality at the same time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the TOTAL GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
Specialist job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Earth
Sciences (or equivalent). Masters will be an added advantage. - Three years’ experience in GIS using the ArcGis Tool.
- Excellent geographical data Management skills
- Good analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft excel
