associations and government agencies to implement trade and investment
promotion strategies; generate business-led, collaborative approaches to
promote trade and investment growth; assess markets and investments; and
opportunities to investors. JAA has been working in Uganda and East Africa for
almost 20 years, including implementing 17 projects in Uganda. We have
implemented more than 600 projects in 127 countries.
Activity is to increase incomes and improve livelihoods of households through
agricultural-led inclusive economic growth. The Activity will increase the
institutional capacity of the private sector, government institutions and civil
society organizations. It will create
incentives for agribusinesses to invest in the market system and be more
responsible to changes in it.
who will be responsible for guiding and implementing market and trade
objectives for the upcoming USAID-funded Inclusive Agricultural Markets (IAM)
Activity in Uganda. The Specialist will work
within a project team.
The ideal
candidate must hold a Master’s degree in business, trade, policy, development
or a related field
At least
seven years of experience working with organizations providing market access
facilitation, investment facilitation or policy services
Good
supervisory and management skills
Work experience
providing technical experience to strengthen the business enabling environment,
internal market development and facilitating public-private dialogues strongly
preferred
Experience
providing technical assistance through USAID-funded programs strongly preferred
Excellent
oral and written communication skills in English and Ugandan languages required
